Open Call Notice:

“Righteous, Gnarly, Fersure!” is a skateboard art show and contest hosted by Pixels and Collaboration X.

This is an open call from November 7th to December 31st, 2013, to all artists interested in participating. To sign up for the contest, pick up an entry form from Pixels or download it here: http://goo.gl/APIr5Z


Once completed return it to Pixels by December 31st, 2013, along with your $20 entry fee, which will be added to the cash prize pool. You will receive one blank Inkonsiderate Boardshop wooden deck courtesy of Pixels. You, the artist, will paint/modify/decorate the wooden deck and submit to curator, Jon “Roach” Brosius, between the dates of January 25th and January 31st, 2014. Please include the attached Artist Inventory Sheet upon submission of your completed skateboard deck.

All submissions will be on display at Pixels from February 6th through March 28th, 2014. The

artwork will be judged by the public from February 6th through February 28th, 2014. In that time frame, ballots will be available at Pixels during its hours of operation (Monday through Friday 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. and Saturday/Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.) and must be submitted to Pixels by February 28th, 2014.

The winners will be announced March 6th, 2014. A cash prize will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place artists.

On March 6th, 2014, all submissions will be posted for sale through March 28th, 2014. All sales will be coordinated through Pixels’ curator, Jon “Roach” Brosius, and is subject to a 30% commission fee. No later than 30 days from the close of the show, 70% of the sale amount will be remitted to the artist.

Should you choose not to sell your skateboard deck, please list it as “Not For Sale” on the Artist Inventory Sheet when submitting your artwork.

All submissions not sold may be kept by the artist at the end of the show.
