One Mayor, various Pub Crawls, artists, RPD, and the general public cast a total of 575 votes locking in the crowd favorites. On March 1st ballot counters: Monette Klure, Pixels Owner; Jon Roach, Exhibit Curator; & Patrick Brien, Executive Director of the Riverside Arts Council met to tabulate the votes.
With 39 votes, one vote short of tying for 2nd place, Shannon Castro was awarded $170 for 3rd place with "Wild Things," her rendition of Where the Wild Things Are in Riverside.
Coming in at a close second with 40 votes, Pixels' own bartender B. Rad, who was awarded $260 for his back lit Pixel's Logo deck.
The grand prize of $430 was awarded to Sierra LaPoint for 1st place. Sierra went above and beyond with her mystical tree friend Arbuello, fashioned from toilet paper, glue and decorative moss (naturally positioned on the north side).
A majority of the skateboards on display are now available for sale. Make sure to stop into Pixels before March 28th, 2014 to purchase one of your favorite skateboard decks. All sales must be conducted through Pixels Curator Jon Roach.
